Are you getting tattooed? - Consider these cons list first.
This article will let you know if tattoos are for you. Once you outweigh the pros and cons of having a tattoo, it will be much easier to decide if it would be perfect for investing your time, money, and, most importantly, your body.
Cons of having a Tattoo
Changing trends and fashions
If you're getting a tattoo to
follow a trend, you might as well want to reconsider. A trend today might be an
old pattern or insignificant model tomorrow. And if you're someone that wants
to etch themselves to follow some fashion statement, then you might want to
explore some temporary tattooing techniques and options if available.
Extremely painful
Suppose you're someone that cries
when pinched. Tattooing is undoubtedly not the best thing that you can do to
yourself. Tattoos are extremely painful, and for someone like me with medium
pain tolerance, even I might reconsider having one. For goodness sake, the
machines that make tattoos are called guns, and after knowing this fact, now
the rest is up to you to decide. Click here to know more about tattoos.
Medical complications
You should not get tattooed if
you suffer from some of the below-mentioned health conditions. If you're
suffering from a blood-thinning problem or are prescribed anticoagulants, please
stay away from even tattooing and it is not for you. Also, if God forbid you to
get involved in a road/car accident and the medical team wants to locate a
nerve or muscle in your body, it will undoubtedly be more challenging if you're
covered in a tattoo overall.
Also, you may want to inform your
doctor regarding a tattoo if you're going for an MRI Scan, as some studies show
that undergoing scans could be pretty dangerous if your tattoo has any iron.
Criminal complications
Now take, for instance, that you
are mugged, just, for example, it may or may not happen considering the part of
the city that you live in. but jokes apart, if you're maltreated or mistreated
or assaulted at any time, it will be harder for the police to verify your
injuries and scars if you're covered all in ink. So it's better to choose your
tattoo and the size of it wisely if you want to get one.
Social stigma
Now, this is something that
varies from culture to culture. But even the modernists of cultures have a
specific preconceived notion about people with tattoos.
For example, some would think
that a girl with tattoos might be thought of as having a loose character or
easy. However, I don't know how these conclusions come up after so much
evolution of people's cerebral capacity. And if you're the judging one, I want
to simplify it as thinking capacity. But yes, the stigma around even men with
tattoos as being overly harsh or criminalistic in nature is very, very common
also if there are records of criminals being identified by their tattoos.
Pretty sad, huh?
Tattoos' permanent nature
Now let's not forget that tattoos
are the permanent type of statement you will be making, as they were pretty
endless the last time I checked. They last a lifetime, and the idea or trend
you may be projecting by the tattoo may not last as much. So before deciding on
the tattoo, you might want to check up on the idea behind it and how strongly
you support it.
Aging Effects
As we already discussed, some
trends would not be valid. Another form of con of having a tattoo is that our
skin ages. As we age, so do your body and your skin. So a new tattoo at 50yrs
may take more time to heal and maybe even more susceptible to bruising. Also,
when the skin wrinkles, the shape of the tattoo may get reformed into something
entirely different. So you may want to consider this fact too.
Health and Cleanliness
Even if you accept or reject it,
not all inks are the same, and the same goes for all tattoo parlors. A cheap
ink or an FDA non-approved material/chemical, if used, may cause more harm than
good to your skin and may cause you to regret your experience ultimately. A
study stated that around 0.6 to 7% of adults faced some form of infection after
getting a tattoo. Also, it is challenging to locate the cleanliness of a
specific area that is tattooed as the dirt, and any condition, if there arises,
cannot be seen clearly. Also, studies reveal a higher risk of skin cancer after
tattoos.
So, please consider all these
points, and if the pros you have outweighs the cons listed here, please have a
good time having a tattoo and enjoy it thoroughly. The intention of this
article is only to help you make an informed decision.
